Hot Poker Thread of the Week

Banter between Tony G and Phil Hellmuth on poker shows can be fun to watch, but what if you find yourself up against such a "talkative" person at the online poker tables? Instead of just having to deal with the usual donkaments, you now find yourself swarmed by random comments from your opponents, their whines, critics of others and as the list goes on, you may start to feel like you're in a poker nightmare.

How to deal with these kind of situations? Should you ignore the chat box completely or go in a battle of wits against such players? Some people mute them, some play too many tables to notice such activities and others are grateful for having such players at their tables, because they regard them as free money bags running around and waiting to be picked up by someone.

Poker Blog of the Week

Another light summer blog has risen on our forum this week. If you've got some free time at hand, stop by in stevegold87's blog and read through his latest poker adventures. Besides giving you an update of his past experiences in poker, he has also put a hefty amount of goals ahead of him - and not just any kind of goals, as most of them are quite unique, to say the least.

After the initial post which will probably make you wanna read it twice (it's that long, that colourful and that fun to read), you'll find yourself regularly updated on some of the hands he played, graphs of his sessions and all the stuff you'd expect to find in a cash gamer's blog.

Another Stevegold's adventure. NL cash game micro limit

Performances of the Week

It has been an insane week for the PokerStrategists. Numerous final table finishes with respectable payouts have been reported this week. However, casting a friendly shadow on all of these cashes is yoghi who just came out of the closet, adding his $57,102 winning in the WSOP Main Event to our One Million in a Year challenge.

Besides cashing in the Main Event, Yoghi also had success in online poker tournaments and you can find more info on that as well as other notable results by PokerStrategists this week below:

One Million in a Year - Total Winnings (Week 49): $679,548.75

A whopping $76,727.14 has been added this week to our One Million in a Year challenge. While largely being a courtesy of Yoghi, such an impressive scenario for this week was also directed by other PokerStrategists who have shown great success in both live and online tournaments. With 49 weeks behind us, we can now certainly look forward to surpassing the $700k mark at the very least.
