Community member purplefizz's blog Who says hot chicks can't play poker? still at NL50SH is a superb read and refreshingly different from any blog you've ever seen. A great mixture of everyday life, poker and humour in every conceivable colour as long as it's purple of course. I particularly like the "winking disclaimer" 🙂

give him the wrong odds to continue his chase, is pot size bet enough
each street? And how about the river? do I give up? does his shove mean he got his straight? I have no reads because it's the beginning of the tourney."

Judge chenny8888: agrees "I like it until the river" and adds "We still have a large enough stack to fold there, so I make the fold."

Sorry I cannot name everyone each week, but I'll try to pick up a
selection of different people each time. Keep posting those wins in this thread.

It is now very close to the end of the 'year' after
tribuncaesar first set up this $1,000,000
challenge for us. We have until the 10th of August to achieve this
target or get as close as possible to it, we are over the $600k figure with a current total
of $610,128.20.

Spotlight this week on community member justkyle88, interviewed by eaglestar88.

PokerStrategy: Hi justkyle88 welcome and thanks for agreeing to an interview for the community. Tell us a little bit about yourself. justkyle88: Hey, It's an honour 🙂 My name is Kyle, I'm 20 and currently working as a Poker Tournament Director. PokerStrategy: Ooh cool job. Is there a story behind the nickname, does it have any special meaning?

justkyle88: No special meaning. I think it was about 7 years ago, I was making a hotmail account and I asked my friend beside me what I should use as my username, they suggested justkyle88 and it has kind of stuck. haha

PokerStrategy: How long have you been playing poker?

justkyle88: I started playing when I was 18 so about 2 1/2 years.
I can't remember exactly when I was intoduced to it, but I first started playing at my local pub and became friends with the guy that was running the show. And he showed me online poker and actually got me on PokerStrategy.com.

PokerStrategy: How would you describe your poker style?

justkyle88: Well all my friends think I'm a total nit and only play ABC poker but lets keep that a secret. 😉

PokerStrategy: lol of course. Your secret's safe with me, oh and a few thousand other members. Which variants are you currently playing and at what levels?

justkyle88: At the moment, I'm grinding NL10 FR and MTT's up to $5.50 and sometimes I get staked into bigger MTTs. and the occasional home cash game.

PokerStrategy: Do you get chance to play many live events, or are you mainly online based?

justkyle88: I used to play 3-5 events of live poker each week but now it's mainly online because I work most nights and there is more money online.

PokerStrategy: If you had to have a theme tune to enter a poker tournament to (like boxers when they enter the ring), what would it be?

justkyle88: Mocking bird song from Dumb and Dumber 🙂

PokerStrategy: Who are your favourite poker pro's and why?

justkyle88: Daniel Negreanu because he can obviously see your cards.

PokerStrategy: What has been your biggest success/achievement in poker so far?

justkyle88: Online - I doubled my BR when I placed 3rd in an $1.10 MTT on stars and building all my BR's pretty much from $0. Live - When I cashed for $3k in a $1mil Guaranteed freeroll. hehe.

PokerStrategy: Wow, nice. If you had the opportunity of playing a final table with a selection of people of your choice (doesn't have to necessarily be poker players, anyone past or present), who would be seated there with you?

justkyle88: Seat 1: Peter Griffin (Family Guy)
    Seat 2: Jim Carrey
    Seat 3: Daniel Negreanu
    Seat 4: Phil Hellmuth so i can tilt him like there no tomorrow.
Harder Than I thought.
    Seat 5: My Mum so I can show her what I do every day of my life.
    Seat 6: Ryan Morris (best mate) so I can own him.
    Seat 7: Tom Dwan and
    Seat 8: Ryan Hardy

PokerStrategy: What do you like most about PokerStrategy?

justkyle88: How nice the community is. Everyone is always trying to make each other better.

PokerStrategy: Do you have a favourite blog that you are currently following?

justkyle88: dadude77, p0kerqt, purplefizz, juicequadre and grummeler are the main ones I have been interested in of late.

PokerStrategy: Is there anyone in particular from the community you'd like to give a shout out to?

justkyle88: Pretty much everyone in mIRC, hlynkinn, cardbender, p0kerqt, vhallee, volrath89, cannell555, sorry if I've missed someone.

PokerStrategy: Do you have any hobbies outside of poker?

justkyle88: Bodyboarding is a big one, if no-one knows what it is, its similair to surfing. My mates and I usually go out of a wednesday and saturday night and get drunk so I guess thats a hobby.

PokerStrategy: If money was no object, what would you buy?

justkyle88: An
island, an elephant to do cool tricks on my island, a Maserati to do
burnouts on my island and houses for all my friends on my island.

PokerStrategy: Ah loving the elephant idea 🙂 Well I hope that one day when it
all comes true we can all come over to "Kyle-Isle" and visit.
