Interview with $50,000 Tell-a-Friend Raffle Winner elsidders
We catch up with elsidders of Ireland, who is the second lucky player to win $10,000 in our $50,000 Tell-a-Friend Raffle.
"I've sent just over 14,000 players"
PokerStrategy.com: Well done on your win. How long have you referred friends to PokerStrategy.com?
elsidders: I've been a member of PokerStrategy.com since 2007. I've been referring people for about 5 years and I have sent just over 14,000 players.
PokerStrategy.com: How many tickets did you have in these raffles, and did you refer more friends because of this promotion?
elsidders: I think I had over 50 tickets in each raffle. I don't think I could possibly refer more than I am already.
PokerStrategy.com: What method do you use to refer friends?
elsidders: Solely through my own sites. PokerStrategy.com is reviewed on each of my sites.
PokerStrategy.com: What is it about PokerStrategy.com that you tell people to get them to sign up?
elsidders: Well, the free money is the main attraction. But I try to stress the extra benefits that come with a PokerStrategy.com membership, such as the great training. Other sites charge for the quality of strategy advice that PokerStrategy.com gives for free.
"I didn't realise I'd won for two days"
PokerStrategy.com: How did it feel when you realised you'd won the 10k?
elsidders: I was stunned. I never win anything. I didn't realise that I had won until I was checking my stats two days later.
PokerStrategy.com: Any big plans for your winnings?
elsidders: No big plans really. I support a local animal charity so they will get something extra this Holiday season, and I had been looking into helping a local cancer charity so I can do that now, too.
PokerStrategy.com: What advice would you give to people wanting help getting referrals?
elsidders: I think that people are wary of free offers, usually thinking there must be some catch. Focus on how the free money offers actually work.
If you can take some time to explain how these deals benefit everyone you can get players that weren't even looking for free bonuses. I have always thought that the free bonus side of poker was the best possible area to be in, as, quite literally, everyone is a winner.
