Tell us about your biggest MTT win.

My biggest score was in the WCOOP #9 2nd Chance, $530 NL Holdem, for a total of $53k. As it ended at 4am and it was in the middle of WCOOP I gotta say I was exhausted but quite happy, as it helped me recover from a major downswing.

What are the biggest leaks you see in MTTs?

I believe most people play MTTs like they were cash games, so they try to chip up at the start of the game and forget to work on stack maintenance during the mid and late stages. Another thing is that people forget about tournament life and ICM considerations.

How can our members easily improve their MTT skills?

First of all you have to know how to play different ranges with different stack sizes.
This is followed by understanding NASH theory as a second step and GTO as third one.

Let's get offline for a second, what is your favorite pastime outside of poker? As a Brazilian we suspect Caipirinha & beaches?

Hehe! I gotta say that besides being Brazilian I'm more into beer than Caipirinha. But I do like going to the beach and traveling in general. Besides that hanging out with friends and my girlfriend, as well as watching some TV series.

You haven't always played MTT's, how did you progress through your career?

I started my career back in college in 2007, playing Fixed Limit cash games from small stakes up to $10/$20 and $15/$30. At this point PokerStrategy.com became a big deal for me, a place where I could get all the info I needed to improve. In 2011 I took a break as I was living abroad and felt I could not beat the games I was playing anymore. So after that I came back to Brazil and decided to join a stable to play MTTs. I played for some backers until I beat the games I was playing and felt confident enough to play the higher games.

Which tournaments online have the toughest fields?

I would say the WCOOP and SCOOP majors in general, specially the 5ks and 10ks as all the best regs in the world plays them. Besides that though the toughest regular MTTs are the $320 6-max on Stars and the Super Tuesday.

How would your life have looked without the opportunities you got through poker?

Without poker I believe I wouldn’t have traveled as much as I did in my life and at this moment I would be working regular hours in an office.
