New referral links for Tell-A-Friend program
We implemented new referral links for you to get the most out of your recruitment of new members.
First things first:
The previous links still work properly! For at least another 3 months you don't have to change anything about your posted links.
What do the new referral links look like?
Instead of using your account name as referrer you now have a randomly created, personal referral code which can be found in your referral link.
The previous format was:
http://www.pokerstrategy.com/?referrer=yournick
The new format is:
http://www.pokerstrategy.com/yourcode
Where am I able to see my new referral link?
On the Tell-A-Friend Info Page you will find your new referral link along with many other informations.
Why the change?
The old referral links, which you might have posted on your homepage or in forum signatures, have always included your nickname here on PokerStrategy.
As a result of this, along with the word "referrer", it was always very obvious that you had a personal interest in having somebody use your link to sign up at PokerStrategy. Many members reported about difficulties to plausibly and honestly tell people about PokerStrategy - more often than not it was quickly discarded as mere advertisement.
Now you have a personal referral link which looks more natural and orientates itself by the experiences of professional internet promotions. Furthermore, a click on the link will immediately forward to the intended address, so that the recruited person might not even notice the code, in accordance to what our referrers have been asking for for quite some time.
- We advise you to update your signatures, ad banners and similar links with the new referral link!
Why Tell-A-Friend is now even more profitable
We believe that the use of the new link alone will already have a positive effect - less potentially new members will be detered by the link before they even checked out our offer.
Furthermore, we tested a new front page in the past weeks which new visitors will see on their first stay. Our tests showed that there is a much higher probability that one of your referred visitors will actually sign up at PokerStrategy.
