Should I push or should I call?

This week’s hand of the week comes from Italian user alborto and his Ace pair hole cards (

). Sitting on the button in a 4-player NLHE Cash game at PokerStars, Hero raises and is called while the other two dropped out preflop.
Now, here comes the controversial part. On the flop, Hero responds to a raise with a call when faced with 
, 
and 
before moving on to the turn (
) where both players counter raise at which point we pause play because, and you know what’s coming, we want to know what you would do here.
A lot of contributors to the conversation were in agreement with polentaro1 and imperium6 who both admitted that they would have gone broke flop.
However, our coach katewalker1 disagrees, believing that the call flop was a reasonable option, with , we have a nut flush re-draw and by raising we get value from any overpairs while forcing oppo to fold the bottom of his range when he would probably also have bet on the turn.
