BotD Season 3: Week 3 Results

The third event of this season's Battle of the Donkeys (BotD) produced yet another excellent performance from our community, despite being heavily outnumbered once again by our Spanish community counterparts, we managed to bring 9 players home in the money, well done everyone.

A total of 132 players (84 Spanish & 48 English) from our communities participated on Sunday within 24 regular teams (9 English) and two community teams.

By the first break, we had only lost 12 players to the usual bad beats and sukouts and by the second break we still had 17 players going strong against just 25 Spanish (and a couple of thousand other players of course).

Things were starting to look good as amongst our ranks still were consistent finishers amirpuato, frozenrope, hlynkinn & 1seednoir1 to name but a few. Team We Minraize You were present in force with 4 of their starting 6 still in contention, amirpuato, dippy, gape0000 & olivierlu. In fact every English team still had at least one contender in the race, an impressive achievement and one that the Spanish could only dream of. Further proof of our incredible strength in depth.



3 hours into the tournament, the bubble finally broke leaving 9 English community players in the money (4 from We Minraize You!) and just 15 from the Spanish community, we had all but overcome the massive difference in starting numbers, by the quality of our finishers.



Special mentions this week to the following players:

> olivierlu for cashing in his first BotD appearance. Many congratulations, first of many we hope,

> sumytheslayer for cashing in only his second BotD appearance. Again many congratulations, good luck again next week,

> flopper8 who played in his first ever BotD event, good seeing you at the tables, hope you can make it again next week,

> frozenrope achieved her 2nd cash of the season, matching the achievement by 1seednoir1 last week.

Unfortunately bad beats seemed to return to haunt our players and one by one they fell, each picking up $9.88 for their efforts.



This left us with just dippy, who continued to thunder on, thinning out some of the Spanish ranks as they went and reaching an impressive 119th place earning $39.53 in the process.

Together with his We MinRaize You team mates, they picked up a massive 27 points, 2x platinum medals & a bronze, a terrific performance that puts them right up the front in the chase for overall season glory.
