Chris Ferguson wins 6th WSOP bracelet

Yes you are reading that correctly, Jesus is back and extending his remarkable run in this year's World Series of Poker.

The most controversial Player of the Year race ever has likely come to its inevitable conclusion, as former Full Tilt founder Chris Ferguson wins his sixth bracelet. 

By his own admission he was just trying to ladder for more POY points in the €1,650 PLO8 event, having made his record breaking 22nd cash of the 2017 WSOP (and 5th cash in seven events at the WSOPE). 

But after playing very tight throughout he found the win in the early hours of the morning, heads-up against Stanislav Wright of Ukraine, for his 6th career bracelet and €39,289. 

While the points are not official this probably seals the POY race for him, as he started the day with 1,046.56 points compared to the next best contender Ryan Hughes with 961.23. As it was a small field event and small prize, it's not over yet. It does remove the possibility of this being the first POY winner who did not win a bracelet during their run, as almost all Ferguson's cashes this year were min-cashes until now.
