888poker changes BLAST to three-handed

The Lottery SNG variant from 888poker moves to the industry standard of three-handed.

Last week players at 888poker may have noticed that their version of the Lottery SNG, BLAST, had made a significant change. 

BLAST is now a three-handed game, rather than four-handed, bringing it in line with every other major Lottery SNG in the industry. 

Previously partypoker also had a four-handed Lottery SNG offering (SNG Hero) which eventually became three-handed. 

The reason for the change, according to 888poker, is to fill the games up quicker in the lobby. It does appear that three-handed is the sweet spot for operators to give customers the convenience factor that Lottery SNGs seem to provide. 

Perhaps the only difference now between BLAST and other variants of the Lottery SNG is that the game ends after a number of levels, at which point all the players are forced all-in. How many levels depends on the size of the multiplier. Spin & Go Max by PokerStars also has this limited number of levels but is different in that it has a random number of players. This week PokerStars also changed Spin & Go to have variable blind levels based on the size of the multiplier.
