The first Galfond challenge starts next week

The first Galfond challenge is on
The first of what will be an epic series of heads-up high stakes challenges by Phil Galfond begins next week, as he takes on high stakes pro 'VeniVidi' at the €100/€200 PLO tables from January 22.
A side bet of Phil's €200,000 to VeniVidi's €100k is also on the line. Although all the bets are not booked yet, it looks like Phil is risking at least $3 million overall in side bets as well as his action at the tables.
He has also confirmed challenges with 'ActionFreak', Brandon Adams, Chance Kornuth, Bill Perkins and Daniel Cates (although terms with Cates have not been agreed).

Gambling with credit cards banned in UK
From April 14 people in the UK will be unable to place bets and make deposits into gambling accounts using credit cards, in an attempt to curb problem gambling.
22% of gamblers who use credit cards in the UK are classed as problem gamblers.
UK gamblers and poker players will still be able to make deposits with other methods such as debit cards and eWallets.
Kara Scott launches a new podcast
Those of you who remember Kara Scott from her Poker Night Live and Sky Poker days will not want to miss this, she has just launched a new podcast for 888poker.
The Heart of Poker promises to get to deeper than ever before with the poker players being interviewed, by using Arthur Aron's 36 questions that get more and more intimate.
