Hellmuth defeats Negreanu again

The Poker Brat now makes it five High Stakes Duel wins in a row with a second victory over Kid Poker last night on PokerGO.

Despite Daniel Negreanu's new found appreciation for GTO he just cannot find a win in the heads-up arena. Last night he lost for the second time against Phil Hellmuth in the High Stakes Duel on PokerGO.

KidPoker lost $100,000 in the match after previously losing $50,000 in the first one. As per the rules of the High Stakes Duel show the stakes have to increase for every rematch meaning next time it will be for $200,000.

A next match is guaranteed as Daniel has already challenged Phil, who has already accepted. Indeed, he is also willing to make a lot of sidebets on the match:

After the match, Hellmuth weighed in on Negreanu not paying him much respect:

I’ve given Daniel credit the whole way from start to finish and I haven’t said one negative word about him. He was pretty condescending in the first match. I felt it was super condescending, and this match he handled himself much better. But even still, he’s preaching down to me about ranges, and I’m thinking to myself, I’ve just won 24 out of 26 heads-up matches against pros and they have me rated as a fucking underdog every match. It just blows my mind, but I just never quite get that respect, and that’s ok with me. I just want to keep winning.

The Poker Brat has now won all five of his High Stakes Duel matches in a row, having previously beaten Antonio Esfandiari three times in a row. If he wins the third match he is allowed to cash out his winnings. It is unlikely that Negreanu will walk away from these matches any time soon.

You can watch the first few hands of the match which were streamed on the PokerGO YouTube channel before moving over to its paid service:

Will Hellmuth cash out after another victory? Let us know in the comments:
