A record breaking Hendon Mob Championship in Europe

Incredible numbers for €150 Event in Rozvadov as records are broken, even though the WSOP is in full flow.

The 2025 Festival Rozvadov has been posting huge numbers, and the €150-entry Hendon Mob Championship (THMC) has broken records this week on the Czech-German border. With an amazing 2,417 total entries in the tournament, a €304,542 prize pool awarded a €51,300 top prize to the eventual winner, Haik Tougu.

An ambitious guarantee of €300,000 was smashed late in the Day 1 schedule after eight starting flights took place at King’s, with six in Rozvadov and the other two being played as remote Day 1s at King’s Casino in Prague. Martin ‘Franke’ von Zweigbergk, who founded The Festival and the Head of Partnership at The Hendon Mob Roland Boothby put together the festival hoping that numbers would come where big money could be won. They were proven right by a phenomenal turn-out for the opening event of the series.

A unique prize awaited the winner, with the €51,300 top prize boosted by a portrait of the winner, the THMC trophy and a Cape Town Millions package worth $1,500 all included. By the end of the Day 1 flights, the previous THMC record of 888 entries at the 2025 Irish Poker Open had been surpassed with ease, becoming the largest field THMC event ever held in Europe.

All-German Fab Four

After 12.5% of the field all cashed, with a minimum €300 paid out, the race was on to reach the latter stages when 296 players gathered in Rozvadov on Day 2. Within just a couple of hours, the action was closing in on the top 100 players, but it took another seven hours to reach the final table of nine. Featuring three nationalities, five of those players hailed from Germany, including all of the final four.

The heads-up battle between Philipp Klok and the eventual winner Haik Tougu took just 11 hands to play out between the two countrymen. When Klok shoved with 10♥9♣, he was behind Tougu’s Q♠2♣ and stayed that way through the K♥3♦A♥5♣4♣ board, claiming €27,300 as runner-up.
