WSOP Ante Up For Africa On ESPN

Ante Up For Africa saw many top pros and celebrities both at the tables and on the rails, thus making the latest ESPN episode dedicated to this charity tournament quite interesting.

The latest ESPN episode featured Ante Up For Africa charity tournament. The tournament was a huge success,
gathering 127 players which gave the poker fans a chance to see some
live encounters between their favourite players and Hollywood
celebrities.

The "Rounders" actor Matt Damon found himself at the featured
table alongside Erik Seidel who had a brief appearance in the same film, as his runner-up performance to Johnny Chan in the 1988 WSOP
Main Event was featured in the Rounders.

With all the celebrities at the tables and on the rails, the ESPN
commentator Norman Chad had the time of his life, throwing in jokes and
interesting details whenever possible. Amongst other things, Chad
revealed that the 2003 WSOP Main Event Champ Chris Moneymaker stepped
into the poker realm after watching the film Rounders.

Chad did his share of interviews as well, joking with Mike Matusow how
money should be pooled for Mike Tyson to punch Hellmuth, as the former
heavy-weight champ was in the field. Matusow commentd, "I will throw an extra $5,000 to the charity if he connects."

Main Event coming up next

The final table of the tournament saw poker pros taking their seats, as
actors, singers and other celebrities made their exits one after
another. WSOP bracelet winners Jennifer Harman (pictured right), Erik Seidel, Chris
Ferguson, Rafe Furst and John Hennigan were all seen at the final
table along with Matt Kay, Phil Gordon, Adam Richardson and Alex
Bolotin who eventually claimed the title of the Ante Up For Africa
event.

The upcoming ESPN episode will be dedicated to the 2009 WSOP Main Event
where Tim "Nazgul" Kahlmeyer made a great performance, battling with likes of Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier during his time at the featured table.
