Poker After Dark: Cash game with top guns
One of the toughest cash game tables you could ever sit at is being played this week in NBC's show Poker After Dark. We now bring you the review of the first episode.
Phil Ivey, Tom "durrrr" Dwan (pictured right), Patrik Antonius, Ilari "Ziigmund" Sahamies, Eli Elezra and Howard Lederer all took their seats this week at the $200/$400 NLHE cash game table in the NBC's show Poker After Dark. Antonius, durrrr and Ivey bought in for $250,000, while Elezra, Ziigmund and Lederer bought in for $100,000.
The first episode started in fast pace right away, as the players already know each other very well. Unlike his sheepish performance in High Stakes Poker Season 5, the "professor" Lederer played more hands in this show and durrrr even interested him in the popular deuce-seven game.
Live straddle from the beginning
With Lederer's acceptance, it looked like the 2-7 game was about to begin but Phil Ivey (pictured right) was against it, so it never came to life. However, there were plenty prop bets running already to make the game more interesting to the players, along with the $800 live straddle which was frequently put on.
