durrrr Million Dollar Live Challenge: Three Days of Battling are Over

Tom "durrrr" Dwan has successfully won two out of three heads-up matches in his live durrrr Challenge. The player who took the most beating was Sammy "Any Two" George, losing $750k over the course of 500 hands played.

For the past three days, the live durrrr Challenge saw Tom "durrrr" Dwan play heads-up NLHE and/or PLO against Marcello "Luckexpress10" Marigliano, Ilari "Ziigmund" Sahamies and finally, Sammy "Any Two" George.

The first match, against Luckexpress10, featured a tight battle which saw none of the players build up a serious lead of $100,000 or more. Eventually, after 500 hands of mostly NLHE, it was Luckexpress10 who walked away with a modest profit of $22,500.

A tough battle against Ziigmund

The second match was against Ziigmund (pictured right) who chose to play PLO over the course of 500 hands. durrrr and him fought vigorously throughout the day, as huge pots swung the lead back and forth between them.

One of such pots was built up on a board when Ziigmund bet $60,000, durrrr raised to $194,000 and Ziigmund called. durrrr showed for kings full of eights to scoop the massive pot, as Ziigmund had a smaller full house with for kings full of threes.

When the final cards had been dealt for the day, durrrr was pleased to be up by $68,000 after a difficult match against one of the best PLO players in the world:

"It was a tough game, but a great one at the same time. There were some huge pots and in the end it could've gone either way really, but after losing out against Marcello, I'm delighted to have won today."

durrrr dominates Sammy George

The third day of the live durrrrr Challenge saw Sammy "Any Two" George take on durrrr (pictured right) in mostly NLHE but also a bit of PLO. While George started the match with a few successful bluffs, it wasn't long into the heads-up clash before he lost his $250k buy-in. After several pre-flop raises, both players moved all-in and durrrr's had George dominated, as he held .

One rebuy later and everything was set for the game to continue, but George never managed to recover from those pocket rockets. By the end of the night, durrrr was up by $750k and despite such a devastating loss, George was eager to play a re-match. Should they play again, it will be interesting to see if George will be able to recover or if his hole will get even deeper.
