Daily Rewind: Moorman becomes a legend, WCOOP Main Event, Loosli's run

Any uncertainty that Chris Moorman is the greatest online tournament player of all-time was removed this weekend after he broke through the $10 million barrier.

After taking down yet another Sunday tournament the British pro added $9,500 to his bankroll, sending his online winnings to an impressive $10,019,798.

Soon after his accomplishment Chris took to Twitter to announce the news and a wave of congratulatory tweets followed, including one from his friend James Dempsey who quipped: "But how much did you lose?"

Almost in anticipation of his milestone win, Chris recently announced the launch of his new interactive website, chrismoorman.com, which will feature a number of features including a regular blog.

This year's WCOOP is just a few bets away from a conclusion and when the registration desks closed late last night the overall prizepool stopped at $62,362,757.

Contributing a large amount of money to that figure was the $5,300 Main Event which comes to a conclusion later today.

Following a late influx of players the festival's marquee event reached 2,133 players which meant the $8 million guarantee was breached by more than $2 million.

After nine hours of action the opening session was brought to a close and leading the 296 survivors in the race for the $1,877,573 top prize with 719,357 chips was Australia's "HeroCallFold".

Also making it through the day and just a few steps away from the 244th place bubble was Mike "Timex" McDonald (298,150) and Jason Mercier (273,783) as well as Vojtech 'VojtaR' Ruzicka (207,516) and jenskyllonen (127,372).

Loosli on form

It seems that the wave of positive variance which helped Sylvain Loosli make the final of this year's WSOP Main Event hasn't run out of steam just yet.

Indeed, after lining up alongside more than 1,000 players late last week for the Winamax Poker Open Dublin, the French pro managed to take second place on the podium behind Jerome Guermeur.

After making his way past a final table that included PokerStrategist Michael kaytor Gathy (6th - €19,000), Loosli eventually struck a deal with Guermeur after a three hour confrontation.

With €60,000 locked up Loosli eventually gave in to Guermeur's advances and slipped into the shadows ahead of his WSOP finale, whilst his opponent celebrated a €75,000 win with a giant sheep.

With the final throes of this year's WCOOP occupying the bulk of the poker community, yesterday's high stakes scene was a little less active than usual.

Topping the daily leaderboard with a relatively modest profit of $183,129 was Ronny "ronnyr37617" Kaiser, just ahead of Gus Hansen ($179,768) and jenskyllonen ($146,459).

In contrast, Norway's "no_Ola" suffered the largest downswing of the day and topped the loss leaderboard with a $198,665 deficit.
