It's been almost two years in the making and while PokerStars 7 isn't quite ready for its official release, the developers have opened it up to the community for general testing.
Since announcing the most significant update in the site's history, PokerStars has been testing the product behind closed doors with a select group of play-money and real-money players.
However, in the last week 'PokerStars Douglas' made an announcement on 2+2 that the alpha software is 'now available to any Windows user who has a PokerStars.com account'.
The look and feel of PokerStars 7 is set to be very different from the current model and according to reports it will feature apps, quick seat options, new filters and a redesigned list of games.
Although the new software won't replace the current version just yet, players can get an overview of the product and download the platform using the username and password provided here.

He's one of the most successful young players in the world and last night we got to see the early formation of his infamous stare.
Posing in his early teens and wearing what appear to be his father's jeans, this future pro hadn't quite mastered the intense glare he has today but it's certainly a good effort.
However, what we really want to know is who did this startled starlet grow up to become?

We all love a nostalgia thread and the latest one to captivate the imagination of the community posed the following question: "Who was the best online player pre 2005?"
Looking back at the days when online poker was in its infancy and the game's top players were nothing more than imposing screen names, the opening poster reeled off a list of former greats, including: Taylor 'Green Plastic' Caby, Johnny 'bad_ip' Lodden and Erik 'Erik123' Sagstrom.
Among the other names the forum faithful lamented over was 'Fast_Freddie' who not only took pots worth in excess of $400,000 from the likes of Patrik Antonius (something which was unseen at the time), but invested a lot of time producing his own hype trailer.

With nostalgia taking hold of the Daily Rewind today it seems fitting that one of the original high stakes stars, Patrik Antonius, managed topped the latest profit leaderboard. Having been at the top of the game for ten years, Antonius managed to scoop $226,665 in the last 24 hours to finish ahead of Niki Jedlicka and Phil Ivey.
Feeling the force of Antonius and slumping to a $453,256 loss on Thursday was Phil Galfond. Despite a resurgent run earlier this week, the US pro lost almost half of the $1.1 million he won between Monday and Wednesday. Also suffering losses on Thursday was 'samrostan' and Viktor Blom.
