2024 started poorly for online poker with stories of both super-using and botfarms dominating the headlines.

It appears that operators are going to be a lot more transparent about these issues going forward, as 888poker has revealed its own findings on suspected cheats over the last 12 months.

They shared with pokerfuse that they refunded $362,893 between 4,068 players who had been victims of Bots and/or RTA use at their tables in 2023.

Of that money, $250,000 came from their own pockets as they were unable to seize the money from the accounts that had cheated.

“Our continued progress in tackling bots stems from the understanding that it is crucial in order to ensure that 888poker continues to provide an enjoyable, safe, and level playing field for all our players,” Matan Krakow, Head of Poker Offering at 888poker told pokerfuse.

This comes at a time when ACR has finally put out a statement about the specific allegations of $10 million being won by a botfarm on their tables. They said that they have put the alleged accounts under additional review and the majority of them have been banned from playing since the allegations.

Does the amount 888poker have paid out surprise you? Let us know in the comments:
