Angela Jordison's amazing poker treble
Angela Jordison, a bar owner and mother of two from Oregon in the US, has incredibly emerged as the victor in three consecutive No Limit Hold'em tournaments at the Wildhorse Resort and Casino's Spring Poker Round Up.
First she took down Event #1, a $100+$10 buy-in tournament which attracted some 537 runners, for over $10,000.
Then she overwhelmed the 448 player field in Event #2, a $200+$10 buy-in tourney, to scoop a further $18,000, before finally completing the historic treble - running on "little to no sleep" - by winning Event #3, a shootout tournament that generated 215 hopefuls, for almost $9,000.
In total, she won nearly $40,000 across the three events, practically doubling her total lifetime earnings in the space of a few days, but remained admirably humble over her amazing achievement:
"I love the game of poker so much, I'm just happy I left a little mark on it," she said in a recent interview.
With her newly acquired cash injection, Jordison plans on helping her two children financially with their start at Oregon University later this year, and on heading to Vegas to play a few events at the World Series of Poker.
Hellmuth to join the Twitch revolution?
After hearing of his good friend Daniel Negreanu taking to Twitch earlier this week and generating a huge amount of interest in the process, it seems as though the Poker Brat is feeling a little left out:

Alex Jacob hits $109K on Jeopardy!
Alex Jacob, a former poker pro now working as a currency trader, has taken his streak of wins on popular US TV game show Jeopardy! to a highly impressive four - earning just shy of $110,000 in the process.
Jacob had strolled to victory in his first three shows, but his fourth batch of opponents proved far more difficult to crack.
This time round it all came to one final question in 'Final Jeopardy' which Jacob had to get correct or he'd be eliminated.
