A record breaking field at EPT Prague

Live poker is back in Europe as the EPT National event has smashed the record it set all the way back in 2018.

Last year we saw a host of stories from the States about the pent up demand for live poker and finally we are seeing the same thing happening in Europe. 

The first big event at EPT Prague is the €1,100 EPT National/Eureka Main Event which attracted a jaw dropping 3,155 entries over four starting flights. 

For context, this event broke records in 2018 when it attracted 2,486 runners, meaning it has seen a 27% increase on the previous record . Proof that European poker players are ready to get back to the live felt. 

469 players remain, all of whom have made the money, and €417,820 awaits the eventual winner. It will be interesting to see how big the EPT Main Event will be later on this week. 

Live poker is booming elsewhere. The $10,000 Wynn Millions Main Event in Las Vegas, which was a fan favorite in 2021 in the summer with no WSOP, has attracted 1,075 entries, just beating the $10 million guarantee. 154 players remain in that one with $1,655,952 going to the eventual victor.
