News: AGCC To Hold Full Review After Full Tilt Scandal

Today the BBC has reported that the AGCC is set to review the way they regulate online poker rooms after the way they regulated Full Tilt Poker came under scrutiny.

The Alderney Gambling Control Commission (AGCC) are to hold a review in the aftermath of the Full Tilt Poker Scandal, according to the BBC.

The AGCC has come under a lot of criticism for how they regulated the site, and failing to spot that the company was insolvent or that they had over $300 million seized by the Department of Justice between 2007 and 2011.

Rather than auditing the accounts of the rooms they regulate, the AGCC has been 'regulating by report', meaning that they trust that what the poker rooms have been reporting their accounting to be accurate.

Andre Wilsenach, the executive director of the AGCC, said in the BBC article that they intend to learn from experience, and review their current processes:

"We will certainly review our processes in the light of this particular experience and we might introduce changes if we find that there's things that we could do better from our side."
