Tony Hachem managed to cash in four out of five events on the
PokerStars Australia New Zealand Poker Tour, thus securing himself
the first place in tour's overall points race.

This feat has made
Hachem a PokerStars sponsored player in all of the upcoming events of
the PokerStars Asia Pacific Poker Tour.

"This tour has been a fantastic experience. I am looking forward to
keeping up my good form when the APPT starts in Macau later this month
," said Hachem.

Scott Kerr the final champion

The first season of ANZPT finished this weekend with the main event in Queensland. The tournament gathered 249 players and it was a 21 years old Aussie Scott Kerr who walked away with the AUD $168,075 first place prize.

Kerr's last opponent was Phillip Willcocks, both being PokerStars Qualifiers. With Willcocks coming from New Zealand, this was the first time the two nations that host the ANZPT met in a heads-up clash.

The final hand between the two featured Kerr's AhQd going up against Willcocks' QsJs. The board revealed Qh which gave both a pair but Kerr had a better kicker which eliminated Willcocks in 2nd place for which he earned AUD $112,050.

Season 2 of ANZPT will begin with the stop in Adelaide from 9th to 14th of February, 2010, thus making Adelaide once again the host of the inaugural event of the season.
