APT Macau: The Steicke and Choi show

David Steicke and Inwook Choi took turns to dominate on Day 2 of the APT Macau Main Event. They ended the day with the top 2 chip stacks and are way ahead of the rest of the final 9.

88 players started Day 2 of the APT Macau Main Event but only 9 will return for the final table in Day 3. Poker legend Johnny Chan was among those who made their exits in the second day of play.

The day was played out in two halves with David Steicke and Inwook Choi taking turns to star in each half. The pair go into the final table with the top 2 chip stacks and control more than 55% of the total chips in play.

J.C. Tran the man to watch on the final table

In the first half of Day 2, Day 1A chip leader Steicke took complete control of the field. The rest of the players were almost left mesmerized as Steicke showed off his abundant poker skills to take down pot after pot. Steicke never really had to go to a showdown but ended up with 10 times more chips than what he started the day with.

Towards the second half of the day, it was Choi's turn to take control. One key pot of the day made sure of Choi's dominance when J.C. Tran (pictured right) surrendered a big chunk of his chips to Choi. Although reading Choi's busted flush draw correctly, Tran did not count on Choi having made a pair of deuces. That baby pair sent more than 300,000 chips Choi's way.

Tran maintained his composure to end the day in 4th place and the Poker Pack member will be the man to watch on the final table. With 444,000 chips to work with and a wealth of poker experience to back him up, Tran could be a constant threat to the other final tablists.
