Albert Daher wins EPT One Drop High Roller

A record-breaking High Roller Tournament in Monte Carlo and a stacked final table for the charity event.

EPT Monte Carlo kicked off with a surprise addition to the schedule, the €100,000 One Drop High Roller. The biggest charity tournament in poker made its debut as a PokerStars Live event after previously being both a World Poker Tour and World Series of Poker tournament.

It attracted a record field too. 76 entries in total, which is the biggest ever field for a six-figure tournament in a PokerStars Live event.

Naturally, it boasted a stacked final table which included Wiktor Malinowski, Bryn Kenney and Stephen Chidwick.

But it would be Albert Daher of Lebanon who would go on to take it down, winning €2,055,000 after dispatching Chidwick heads up.

The win puts Daher comfortably in the lead in the Lebanon all-time money list with $11,544,233 in lifetime tournament winnings.

“It’s always good to support charity, and One Drop has been a charity that likes to support poker, and we all love these One Drop tournaments,” he said. “I’m happy to support it.”

Chidwick took down €1,325,700 for his runner-up finish, which puts him within just $3 million of top spot on the all-time money list, where his table mate Bryn Kenney still leads. Given how active Chidwick is compared to Kenney, it seems inevitable that he will take the lead at some point in the next 18 months.

With that record-breaking Super High Roller tournament out of the way, EPT Monte Carlo is hosting another record-breaking nosebleed tournament. The €250,000 super high roller starts today and is the biggest buy-in tournament PokerStars Live has ever hosted.
