Amsterdam Master Classics Of Poker: Scandinavians Sweep The Board

Over two million euro were in the prize pool for the Main Event of the Amsterdam Master Classics of Poker. The majority went to Scandinavia.

Five of the last nine players in the Holland Casino were Scandinavians, amongst them Nikolas Liakos from Sweden who started the final table with a big chip lead. At the end of the day, all five were also on the Top 5 positions.

Jan Sörensen wins the Final Table

The best local player was Raoul Refos. The Dutchman finished on rank 6 behind the Scandinavians. Liakos, who had a promising start, was only able to leave behind the Dane Rasmus Nielsen
and finished fourth.

A short time later, Liakos' fellow country man Daniel Larsson left the table. In the heads-up, the Dane Jan Sörensen faced another Swede, Gustav Ekerot.

In the decisive hand, Sörensen raised and Ekerot went all-in. Sörensen called and showed . Ekerot flipped over and was a clear favourite. However, this already changed on the flop of which gave Sörensen a two pairs. Turn and river changed nothing anymore. Sörensen received €623,100 for his win.
