Ari Engel extends WSOP-C record to 17 rings
He did it again. An online win in Michigan has put Engel within touching distance of 20 World Series of Poker Circuit titles.
It may not be the highest-profile title in poker, but the WSOP-C ring race is the most competitive.
Less than six months after he took the official lead in the race, Ari Engel extended his lead to 17 (two more than Maurice Hawkins) last weekend.
It doesn't matter where you win them, and Engel found himself in a 48-runner online MTT in Michigan to claim his 17th ring.
Engel has carved out an unusual career chasing WSOP-C rings, Travelling all over the world, he has won circuit rings in many different places and crucially in almost every format. He has won rings live and online, full ring, heads-up, six-max, NLHE, PLHE, HORSE, Omaha Hi/Lo, PLO and Mystery Bounty.
It was only 48 unique players and 76 entries total (I was 3 of them)- but I managed to run great and win ring #17 online on Wsop Michigan
