Aussie Millions 2008 - Gobboboy wins Seven Stud mixed event

Three tournaments have already been played at the Aussie Millions. One of the winners is Jimmy "Gobboboy" Fricke, the runner-up to last year's Main Event. It was his third tournament.

After finishing a
close second against Gus Hansen in the Main Event at last year's
Aussie Millions, Jimmy took down his first Aussie millions title. The
tournament was a AU$ 500 Mixed Stud (Seven Stud/ Razz / Stud Hi-lo)
event with a field of 96 players, making it manageable, but still a
good preliminary event.

Pros in the field
included Eric Assadourian, Peter Aristadou, Mel Judah, Lee Nelson and
the German WSOPE Bracelet winner Thomas "buzzer" Bihl.
Unfortunately none of them made the money. Thomas Bihl was eliminated
in ninth place, making him the bubble boy.

Jimmy Fricke was
the chip leader throughout the tournament and ended up heads-up
against Graeme Putt with a 5:1 chip lead. With that monster chip
lead, it didn't take long for Jimmy to end his tournament. Fricke got
AU$ 16,800 for his first place after having played, but not cashed,
in the two first tournaments.

Vicent Wan wins $1,000 No-Limit
Hold'em event

Vincent Wan won
the first tournament of the 2008 Aussie Millions. 537 particpated in
the 2-day tournament The buy-in was AU$ 1,000 and Wan received AU$
142,302 for first place, while runner-up Michael McDonald got
$85,920, and Peter Pratis earned $56,385 for his third place finish.

Fashion designer wins $1,100
Pot-Limit Hold'em event

Australian
fashion designer Chris Chronis was the winner of the AU$ 1,100 PLH
event, the second tournament of the 2008 Aussie Millions, earning
60,398 Australian dollars. 189 players attended the 2-day tournament.
After an exciting heads-up battle Chronis eventually eliminated David
Gorr, who won AU$ 35,910. Sam Youssef finished third for AU$20,790
