Aussie Millions Main Event Day 1A: Chronis First, Antonius Second

The Aussie Millions AUD $10,000+$500 Main Event kicked off yesterday. Christopher Chronis ended Day 1A as chip leader, while the Finnish poker pro Patrik Antonius was runner-up.

The Aussie Millions, one of the largest poker events in the world, kicked off on the 9th of January with an AUD $1,000+$100 No Limit Hold'em event and features a total of 18 tournaments, including the AUD $10,000+$500 Main Event.

Day 1A of the Aussie Millions AUD $10,000+$500 No Limit Hold'em Main Event started at the Crown Casino, where 191 players sat down at the poker tables in hopes of surviving and qualifying for Day 2.

Antonius arrived almost 2 hours late, missing an entire 90-minute level of play, after finishing ninth in the previous Aussie Millions tournament, the AUD $100,000+$500 No-Limit Hold'em Challenge. However, he quickly bounced up and finished the day in second place.

Melbourne resident Christopher Chronis managed to end the day as chip
leader, having a stack of 175,375 chips, a comfortable advantage
compared to the runner-up, Finnish poker pro Patrik Antonius, who
finished with a stack of $139,750 chips. The third place belongs to
Noah Schwartz and his 138,275 chips.

76 players were left and some other well-known poker faces were amongst them: Tony G, Sorel Mizzi, David Saab and Mark Vos will be seen at the tables again on Day 2. However, other poker pros were not able to survive and the tournament ended for them on this day: John Hennigan, Jim Sachinidis, Peter Wong Alec Torelli and Julian Powell were sent to the rail.
