Billirakis Becomes The Youngest WSOP Circuit Champion Ever
Steve 'MrSmokey1' Billirakis attended the most recent WSOP Circuit Event Championship and after being chip leader for both Day 1 and Day 2, he managed to win the entire event, making him the youngest player ever to do so.
The WSOP Circuit Event championship at the Horseshoe Casino Hammond had Steve 'MrSmokey1' Billirakis dominating, as he was chip leader throughout the entire tournament, eventually winning the first place prize of $208,885.
The final table kicked off with Steve Billirakis still chip leader. Other known players that could be seen at the table were Dustin "Neverwin" Woolf and Jason "TheMasterJ33" DeWitt, but they did not manage to go any further, as the heads-up game had Billirakis going against Thomas Koral.
The last hand of the day had Koral raising pre-flop with pocket nines. Billirakis pushed with A8 offsuit and Koral called. The flop showed 
, giving Billirakis, who was holding the ace of diamonds, a flushdraw. With every 8, ace, and diamond giving him the winning hand, Billirakis was therefore in decent shape. The 
on the turn left Koral drawing dead, as the 
on the river changed nothing.
Besides the first place prize of $208,885, Steve Billirakis also received a $10,000 seat in the 2009
WSOP Main Event, the circuit championship ring and $2,000 in travel expenses. Thanks to this championship title, the 22-year old Billrakis has almost $1.2 million in tournament winnings.
