Bin Weng is the back-to-back chipleader in both WPT HyperX Finales

There will be a sense of deja vu later on this month when the World Poker Tour hosts their delayed televised final tables.

One of the things that make the World Poker Tour unique is that some of its marquee events pause the final tables so they can be televised at the HyperX Arena in Las Vegas.

One player who has guaranteed that that particular format will be very entertaining to watch later this month is Bin Weng. He has just pulled off quite the double.

The next HyperX final tables will be on May 25 for the culmination of the WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown and May 26 for the finale of WPT Choctaw.

Bin Weng is the chip leader at both those final tables.

At the start of May, the WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown Main Event attracted 2,290 entries and $1,128,250 awaits the champion. Weng has a more than 2-1 chip lead in that event:

Rank Name Chips
1 Bin Weng 46,050,000
2 Sridhar Sangannagari 19,100,000
3 Mitch Garshofsky 18,550,000
4 David Mzareulov 13,350,000
5 Naing Thu 13,250,000
6 Rafael Farah Jarufe 4,275,000

Barely a week later the WPT Choctaw Main Event boasted a field of 612 and $400,740 goes to the winner. Weng holds a narrow chip lead, just ahead of Jared Jaffee in that one:

Rank Name Chips
1 Bin Weng 8,800,000
2 Jared Jaffee 7,225,000
3 Mike Vanier 5,300,000
4 Dojie Ignacio 4,225,000
5 Erkut Yilmaz 3,150,000
6 Rusty Farrin 1,900,000

This isn't just a flash-in-the-pan moment of variance for Weng, he is having a hell of a year. He won a WSOP-C Main Event in Las Vegas in February for $227,344 and started 2023 by winning $1 million in 'The Return' at the Borgata.

He is an early contender for most Player of the Year rankings, especially the World Poker Tour Player of the Year, and potentially will become the fastest back-to-back WPT Champion in history.

Will he win both or will the delay hurt his momentum? Let us know in the comments:
