Chris Ferguson wins his third WSOPC golden ring
As the only player worldwide Chris “Jesus” Ferguson adopts three golden WSOPC rings as his own.
He won the "2007 Harvey's WSOPC Event" in Lake Tahoe. The main event ran for three days, from the 16th of November through to the 18th of November. The buy-in for this tournament was $5,000 where 142 participants generated a prize pool of $677,700.
Chris Ferguson came to the final table as chip leader and could win the tournament in the end, although at times it didn't look too well for Ferguson. After Sylvester Geoghegan was eliminated in fourth position, Ferguson was in second place with 375,000 chips just ahead of Mark Bonsack who had 335,000 chips. At this time Dustin Fox was chip leader who was able to create a large chip lead holding 567,000 chips. The blinds were at 6,000/12,000 with a 2,000 ante.
Chris Ferguson was able to change things to go his way by a solid and reasoned game when good cards came his way and his opponents played favorably. At first he took Bonsack off the table. Bonsack bluffed all-in with ace high, yet Jesus had trips jacks, called the all-in and took the chip lead again. Ferguson could win the tournament in the first hand heads up against Dustin Fox with a set of tens where Dustin held pocket rockets.
Alongside his third golden ring, Chris took home $203,751. Dustin Fox got $119,333 for his second place finish.
The WSOPC (WSOP circuit) is a tournament series of the WSOP which is held in various casinos. This was the third tournament of the current WSOPC series. The winner of the first tournament in the "Grand Casino Tunica" was Jordan Morgan. Carlos Uz could win the second tournament in "Ceasars Indiana". A winner of one of the WSOPC main events not only wins the prize money but also a unique golden ring, which identifies the player as one of the winners of this event.
