CuCbKu Wins the ECOOP VI Main Event and $330k

Our Russian Team PokerStrategy.com member Andrej "CuCbKu" Mitlyanski has set a new record for the Russian community. The famous MTT player won the ECOOP VI Main Event worth $330,000.

After almost 13 hours cucbku had surpassed the 750 other players, who also paid the buy-in of $1,580. He is now the reigning champion of the European Championship of Online Poker.

After his win, cucbku gave the following statement:

"I could not go to the WSOP due to some visa complications. That is why I had to focus even more on doing well at the online tournaments of this summer. I have already achieved some good results in a number of tournaments, but today my colleague overbe and I were able to add a huge amount to our savings box. And a new record as well!"

CuCbKu's key moments:

• Middle stage of the tournament: "With only about 7,000 chips left (average being around 21k) I was looking for a double up. I made a resteal from the button with A8 and ran into JJ. "Of course" the flop brought an Ace and I made the double up. The table was so weak, that I was able to build up a stack of about 50k chips without seeing a showdown. This was mostly due to 3- and 4-betting the big stacks. Obviously I took a great risk there, but I had to build a solid stack in order to be able to be aggressive on the bubble."

• ITM stage: "I made a resteal push with 87o against a steal from late position and ran into AKo, but the board showed 886xx. That put me above the average stack size and I was able to put even more pressure on my opponents."

Our Russian Team PokerStrategy.com member also states, that he has been somewhat unlucky twice, losing in two situations against short stacks even though he was the huge favorite.
