The Daily Rewind is your one-stop-shop for a sharp review of the day in poker. Join us here for a mix of the latest news and a more irreverent insight into the poker world. Today we discovered the following topics for you:

Deeb’s Million Dollar Deal

It’s not often you can enter a satellite a tournament and walk away with $1 million in cash, but that’s exactly what happened to Shaun Deeb yesterday.

After joining 95 other hopefuls with $25,000 and a dream, Deeb managed to build enough of a stack to reach the heads-up portion of the One Drop satellite.

With $2.4 million in the prizepool Jason Somerville had already banked $400,000 for his third place finish, by the time Deeb and Hansen got heads-up.

With two seats on offer, the winner would be automatically registered for the event, while the second place finisher would join a list of alternates.

Knowing this Deeb called for an impromptu break. When the talks were over Deeb moved in all his chips except one before folding to Gus’s re-raise. With the match virtually over Deeb graciously handed the automatic seat to Gus in favour of the alternate spot.

The reason for taking this line was that it’s very unlikely the alternate list will be used, which means Shaun has basically locked-up $1 million in cash.

Real Life Emoticons

If you’ve played enough poker you’ll certainly have felt the rush of positive emotions when the fish folds to your river bluff. You’ll also have cried inside after getting owned by the worst player at the table.

Poker can be an emotional game but it’s often hard to visualise what those emotions actually look like.

Thanks to lifewithfacecards.com, however, that’s not the case as they’ve put together a hilarious compilation of images that accurately depict the emotional experiences of a poker player.

In the last few days a number of new clips have been added to the site, including: “when I get the best hand to fold and the worst hand to call”, “when I’m on tilt and start shoving every hand pre-flop" and “when I am blasting notorious B.I.G. and start crushing someone heads up”.

If you’re having a bad day at the felt this site is worth checking out.

He’s the only Brit to bag a bracelet this year and after giving it a week to settle in, Craig McCorkell has finally spoken to QuadJacks about his experience.

Big stacks

Yesterday we brought you news of a mega high stakes cash game currently running at the Aria in Vegas and it looks like the action is starting to get exciting.

While it’s been hard for many railbirds to get in on the action, many reports have filtered back from casino floor, most notably that the dealers are some of the biggest winners.

According to posters on 2+2, many of the casino staff have been flicked a $25,000 chip after pushing a $1 million+ pots across the table.

“TheCooler101” caught a glimpse of the game earlier in the week and noticed some big players and even bigger pots taking place:

“I could see Guy and Bobby Baldwin, there was a really young guy, really similar looking to Andy Moseley but I can’t say for definite.

People were also saying "Cadillac1944" was in the game. There were pots of $3M regularly, and there was talk of 25K tips for the dealers.

One of the old guys in the game, around 50 I would say, had the largest stack on the table, I would say around $5-$7 million."

Daily Signoff

Pot Limit Omaha can often produce some bad beats, but this one during the $50,000 H.O.R.S.E event was certainly a tough one to take.
