Daily Rewind - Epic Poker League to hit TV, Wahlroos Wins and Nanonoko's New Pad

In today's Daily Rewind we take a look at the Epic Poker League's TV debut tonight and Thomas Wahlroos's recent victory. In addition to this we look at the return of an online legend in the form of Brian Townsend as well as the ever beautiful Jennfier "jennicide" Leigh.

Epic Poker League on TV

The jury may still be out on the Epic Poker League, but the poker invitational is set to be broadcast to the masses today when it airs on CBS in America. The event features former November Niner Chino Rheem defeating Erik Seidel heads-up.

After the event Rheem was forced to pay out the majority of his winnings to his backers but the event should make interesting viewing nonetheless. In total 18 players with a total of $80 million in tournament winnings finished in the money, meaning that for all its anticipated flaws the poker on display should be of a high standard.

Wahlroos Wins EPT High Roller 6-Max Turbo

Thomas Wahlroos may have spent the last 3 years focusing on anything other than poker but that doesn't mean he's lost his edge when it comes to tournaments. The Finnish player has taken a back step from the poker world over the last few years, deciding to focus more on playing the stock market and indulge in some sky diving.

However, yesterday he managed to take down the EPT High Roller Event worth £226,800. The £10,000, 6-max turbo event attracted some of the toughest players in the world and after seeing his way through the field it was only PokerStars pro, Vanessa Rousso, who stood in his way.

The Finn quickly dispatched with his opponent though and took his overall career winnings to $1.5 million.

High Stakes Corner

He was once one of the most feared online players in the world but Brian "aba20" Townsend suffered a dramatic fall from grace when he not only lost a huge portion of his roll but got caught multi-accounting. After losing his Full Tilt sponsorship Townsend returned to the tables but was far from the force he once was.

However, it looks as the Mr. Townsend could be finding his former glory as he managed to book over $100,000 profit this week from just 2,279 hands. The plucky American actually bagged $117,483 in total making him one of the biggest winners in the last few days. Could this be the return of one of the internet’s original legends?
