It's a story no poker fan wants to hear, but in the early hours of yesterday morning Danish poker star Theo Jorgensen was held at gunpoint at his home in Greve, Denmark.

The masked men forced their way into Theo's home where they believed he held a significant amount of Euros and Dollars.

In front of his wife, the English-speaking assailants threatened Theo before shooting him in the legs three times.

After discharging their firearms the robbers made off with an undisclosed amount of money, leaving Theo's wife to phone the police and travel with her husband to the hospital.

Police are currently conducting an investigation into the incident but as yet haven't found any leads. 

A description of the bankroll bandits has been released and the authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward.

Theo is a stable state in hospital and his injuries are not thought to be life threatening; however, we're sure the entire poker community wishes Theo a speedy recovery.

Grafton's GUKPT gold

Sam Grafton has become the latest GUKPT Grand Final Champion after defeating a stacked field inside London's famous Victoria Casino.

Having got off to a slow start, a slew of famous faces made a late appearance and took the final total of entrants to 137 and the prizepool over £340,000.

Jack Cody was the first player to make a break for the front on Day 1, tripling up during the first orbit of the day.
 
However, when the session came to a close it was Matt Moss who bagged the biggest stack. Indeed, of the early chip leaders, it would be Moss who made it to the final table, eventually exiting in 4th place for £28,250.

Having eliminated Moss it was Grafton's turn to make a break for the lead and, after watching Victor Ilyukhin hit the rail in 3rd, he was within touching distance of his first live title.

After doubling through Peter Charalambous on the opening hand of the finale, Sam then enjoyed a slice of luck just a few hands later when his rivered a flush against Peter’s pocket tens.

A consolation prize of £72,800 was Peter's, but the man left smiling the most was Grafton as he lifted the trophy and banked £102,700.

For those following the WPT there's barely been time to catch a moment's rest recently, as one event has lead directly onto another.

Kicking off with an inaugural showdown in Montreal, the WPT bandwagon then crossed continents to Morocco for a tussle in the resort of Mazagan.

After Giacomo Fundaro took home his first title over the weekend, the organisers are now gearing up for one of their most exciting European stops in the Czech capital of Prague.

The team at PartyPoker has already been prepping the tournament area for the arriving players with goodie bags (pictured right) being a small treat for those aiming for the title.

Ben "Sauce123" Sulsky continued his profitable 2012, yesterday, by banking a table-topping $258,430 in just 782 hands.

The bumper haul took his yearly profits over $3.8 million and put him more than $100,000 ahead of the day's second biggest winner: "wilhasha" ($137,154).

While Ben continued his rise in the poker world, Tom "durrrr" Dwan endured a dip in fortune as he dropped $214,560.

Despite playing 2,598 hands, the online star couldn't dominate like he used to and finished the day as the biggest loser.

Also enduring a tough time at the virtual felt was "mastrblastr". The online grinder dropped $185,285 over the course of 592 hands.
