Jetten's Chinese victory

As Scott Seiver lifted the Super High Roller trophy and the first batch of players took their seats for the start of the Main Event, a unique tournament was taking place at the PCA.

For this year's event, PokerStars decided to embrace the community's love of Chinese Poker and add a $2,150 tournament to their roster.

Having recently busted from the $100,000 event, a host of Open-Face addicts, including Daniel Negreanu, Jason Mercier, Phil Hellmuth and Shaun Deeb all joined the action.

After multiple rebuys were collected it was Peter Jetten (pictured above) who eventually walked away with the $52,000 top prize and the honour of being the first ever Open-Face Chinese Champion.

Cody becomes a poker star

As the action starts to hot up in the Bahamas, PokerStars decided to capitalise on the buzz around the Atlantis Resort this afternoon by announcing their newest pro.

In a special presentation led by Daniel Negreanu, the online site unveiled Jake Cody as their latest pro.

The British tournament pro has risen to become one of the top young players in the world over the last few years and comes after his contract with PKR came to an end late last year.

Unsurprisingly Jake's first appearance under the PokerStars' banner will be at the PCA, before he goes on to represent them in events across the world.

Too many sins for Harman's show

"Sin City Rules is going to be a hit. Seriously."

That was Daniel Negreanu's prediction after watching Jennifer Harman (pictured left) a new reality TV show.

Entertainment critics took an opposing view to Daniel and it seems their assessments were correct, as recent rumours have suggested the show is being axed.

Network bosses at TLC are disappointed with Sin City Rules and are believed to be taking it off their air before the final episode.

The move might come as a shock to Daniel, but Jennifer's role alongside a cast of egomaniacs certainly wasn't going to last forever.

As yet Jennifer hasn't commented on the rumours; however, judging by reactions to the show, the cancellation will probably work in Jennifer's favour.

Junglen receives an apology

Adam didn't do it

At the tail end of 2012 a Twitter war between Adam Junglen, Jimmy Fricke and his mum, Peggy Klausner, broke out.

Threatening to ruin the reputation of Junglen, the accusations levelled at the American pro included theft and dog abuse.

Led by Klausner, the insults soon became personal and at one point it appeared as though Junglen - who suffers from depression - was on the edge of a breakdown.

However, after protesting his innocence from the start, Junglen has finally received an apology from Klausner after the bracelet was found in Fricke's house.

For many a simple "sorry" isn't enough, but it seems that Junglen is content to let the matter rest for now.

High stakes corner

Luneau losing to Blom

Viktor "Isildur1" Blom's domination of the high stakes scene over the past week has certainly been impressive.

However, what's even more impressive is that a lot of his profits have come from the 2-7 Triple Draw tables.

Known primarily as a Hold’em and Omaha expert, Blom's natural affinity for poker seems to have enabled him to become a fearsome player in one of the sport's fringe games.

Such are Blom's skills that Alex "Alexonmoon" Luneau, a Triple Draw expert, has lost over $300,000 to the Swede in the last few days alone.

Whether Blom can continue his meteoric resurgence remains to be seen. However, with a penchant for new games, the high stakes scene should certainly provide some interesting action in the coming months.

He's undoubtedly one of the poker world's most prodigious talents, but how would the poker community's finest describe Viktor "Isildur1" Blom.
