Daniel Pidun wins EPT Berlin
It was a final table of German dominance which saw two PokerStrategists score big, but in the end Daniel Pidun ended an amazing three years in this event with the title.

After one of the longest final table bubbles in EPT history yesterday, the actual final of EPT Berlin was a relatively quick affair.
Although EPT final tables are usually a very mixed International offering, this was a finale with a home grown flavour, with five of the final eight hailing from Germany.
That included two PokerStrategy.com members; coach Julian 'jaygatsby' Thomas who finished in 7th for €110,000 and Alexander 'helbisch2' Helbig who exited in 5th for €202,200.
But the honours went to Daniel Pidun, a local amateur player who has a remarkable record in this event. In 2011 he came 9th for €45,000 and in 2012 he came 17th for €20,000.
This time he did even better by winning the title and €880,000 when he defeated Robert Haigh heads-up.
Haigh himself had plenty to smile about, not only winning €531,000 but also going into second place in the EPT player of the year race.
That wraps up EPT Berlin, now all eyes are on the Grand Final in Monte Carlo, which starts on May 6.

Qualifiers are under way for the biggest event in the EPT calendar, the Grand Final in Monte Carlo.
The €10,000+€600 main event takes place between May 6 and May 12 at the Monte Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort Casino.
There is also a string of side events including a €100,000 Super High Roller event.
Last year Mohsin Charania of America claimed the title and €1,350,000 in prize money.
As always qualifiers are running around the clock at PokerStars, including freerolls, FPP satellites, Steps qualifiers and regular direct qualifiers with buy-ins of €215, €320 and €530.
