Darvin Moon passes away

Poker mourns once again this week as 2009 Main Event runner-up Darvin Moon has passed away aged 56, after a complication in surgery. 

Not every runner-up is remembered but Moon really struck a chord with the poker community. The amateur player was the everyman who could have caused another mini boom had he won.

He was well known for being kind and humble, and famously turned down a lucrative sponsorship deal at the final table because he didn't want to answer to anybody. 

Brad Booth is alive and well

In more positive news, many were concerned for poker player Brad Booth who went missing in July. 

More than two months later he was found alive, well and reunited with his family. No word yet on where he was all this time but his family released a short statement:

bencb is suspicious

Between the Mike Postle saga and the recent real time solvers scandal, it seems the online poker world is becoming more suspicious of each other. 

This week bencb had some concerns when Justin Bonomo made a near perfect call with an unlikely hand in a high roller event this week, after taking 45 seconds to do it. 

Bonomo replied that he simply used his timebank to do some good old fashioned pot odds calculations.

Somebody lied while playing poker

Anyone who has played live a lot has seen somebody overreact like this before, it seems some people struggle with the fact that 'bluffing' is actually a form of dishonesty....
