David Oppenheim Wins Full Tilt Poker $25,000 Shootout Invitational

The special invitational event from Full Tilt Poker came to an end on Friday, when David Oppenheim took down an elite field of 24 poker pros, including the likes of Phil Ivey, Tom Dwan and Patrik Antonius, for a payout of AUD$250,000.

The Full Tilt Poker Shootout Invitational featured at the Aussie Millions brought together 24 of the best poker players around.

With a buy-in of AUD$25,000, the prize pool reached AUD$600,000 ($592,200). The event was split into three heats, with the top two advancing to the final table.

Some of the big names that took part in the event were Phil Ivey, Tom "durrrr" Dwan, Patrik Antonius and Gus Hansen.

Of the players mentioned above, only Antonius made it to the six-handed final table and David Oppenheim (pictured right) had the chip lead.

Oppenheim's chip lead gets him the title

Oppenheim managed to take his stack all the way to the final heads-up phase, where he faced James Bord. However, Oppenheim's 3:1 chip lead proved to be too much for Bord and it didn't take long before a champion was revealed.

The final hand of the event happened in level 8, when blinds were 5,000/10,000 and 1,000 ante. Oppenheim raised to 30,000 and Bord insta-shoved for 244,000 with . Oppenheim quickly made the call and showed . The table ran and so David Oppenheim took home the trophy and AUD$250,000 prize.
