Driving Instructor wins a stacked EPT Monte Carlo
Patrik Antonius, Ole Schemion and David Peters were no match for Nicolas Dumont at the final table in Monaco.
The plucky amateur story is alive and well as French Driving Instructor Nicolas Dumont has won arguably the toughest EPT in any year, EPT Monte Carlo.
The fact that Monaco is a High Roller hotbed makes it tough enough, but this final table featured three of unarguably the best players in the world - David Peters, Patrik Antonius and Ole Schemion.
Dumont was already forced to cancel three days of driving lessons with students during the festival, now with the €712,000 payday, EPT title and PokerStars Platinum Pass, maybe he wont be going back to that job at all?
It was a good event for amateur players as $5 satellite qualifier Krisztian Gyorgyi not only finished 5th for €184,000, he instantly became a viral sensation for this gutsy move at the final table:
