EPT Kiev: Maxim Lykov still leads after Day 4

After 4 Days of intense poker action, the EPT Kiev is down to its final eight player. Maxim Lykov continued his fine form and will go into the final table as the overwhelming chip leader.

The Kiev leg of the PokerStars European Poker Tour is finally down to the final table. After 4 grueling days of poker, only 8 players are left to challenge for the €330,000 first prize.

Maxim Lykov who came into Day 4 with the chip lead almost quadrupled his chip stack to end the day on top. His roughly 2.6 million chips puts him almost 1 million chips in front of Vadim Markushevski. Alexander Dovzhenko who is almost even with Markushevski is in third.

Final tablists represent six countries

In one of the more diverse final tables to be seen in an international poker tournament of this stature, the eight final tablists hail from six different countries. Three players are from Russia (Lykov, Tolokonnikov and Simonyan) while Belarus (Markushevski), Ukraine (Dozhenko), Poland (Plichta), Holland (Schaap) and Germany (Tent) have one representative each.

EPT Kiev Day 4Torsten Tent who will start the final table with the shortest stack was crippled in a confrontation with Lykov. Tent was the pre-flop agressor but Lykov took over after the flop. Tent called down Lykov's bets and showed a flopped set after the river. Lykov however had made straight and took down the massive pot.

The final elimination of the day came when Michael Meyburg pushed all in with . Vitaly Tolokonnikov called and showed . When the flop came it was all but over for Meyburg who had qualified for the tournament on PokerStars. The and did not help Meyburg and he had to make do with the €23,000 for ninth place.
