EPT Warsaw: Live Reporting Day 1B

The leader of the tournament is Bertrand ElkY Grospellier, who finished the tournament with 60,000 in his stack. Dario Minieri is also in a very good position. Some other famous poker players who are left in the tournament are: Katja Thater, Raul Paez, Johannes Strassmann,
Isabelle No Merci Mercier and Peter Jepsen. We are now waiting for the official chipcount.

Alain Roy after big suckout

Amazing suckout at the table #2! Alain Roy played all-in preflop with pocket Tx Tx , but his French opponent had pocket Kx Kx. The flop brought Ax Jx 6x. When the turn showed Qx , which gave another 4 outs for Roy, an Italian guy shouted to the dealer Don't give the king now! Unluckily for him, the last street brought ... Kx.

What's the moral of that story?

Never shout at the dealer.

So the Italian player had to finish the tournament.

Lukasz Wasek

Another Polish player finished the tournament. He lost with 3 outs.

On his last hand, he started in the small blind position. The big blind player decided not to raise. The flop brought Kx 4x 2x so Lukas played passive in this hand. His opponent bet. Lukas called. The turn brought 3x. The Polish player checked again, but after his rival's raise, he played all-in. He was called. Then he showed Kx 9x, his opponent had Kx 4x, so he had two pairs then. The river didn't change anything so we lost another Polish runner.

After a 15 minute break, we are back to play the last 60 minutes of the EPT Warsaw Polish Open for today. Blinds are 200 / 400, ante is 50.

Wojtek SC Frankowski

Wojciech SC Frankowski got involved in a hand with Sebastianem Ruthenberg. We caught the action on the turn, the board was  . Wojtek bet for 2,000. He got called and then the river showed a . Sebastian checked again and Frankowski bet for 3,500. Ruthenberg called, and the Pole slid his cards into the muck.  Sebastian showed pocket . Wojtek lost a lot of chips from his stack and he stayed with just 10, 000.

Bertrand Elky Grospellier Team Poker Stars Pro

The hand started with a limp from the button player, Lukasz Wasek. Bertrand ElkY
Grospellieron, in the big blind position, bet for 1,300. Lukasz called. The flop brought and Elky continued to bet for 1,650. Lukasz called again. When the turn brought Grospellier attacked with a bet of 3,600, it was to much for the Polish player, so he folded with and top pair on the flop

We also caught the action at Ruthenberg's table. On the turn , with 2,800 in the pot. Sebastian, in the big blind position, checked to the cut-off player. The cut-off player raised for 1,800. The button player called. When the action came back to Ruthenberg, he raised for 5,200.
The cut-off folded, however the opponent on the button position went all-in for 7,000 for over 12,000 in the pot! Sebastian thought for a while and finally folded. It was a good decision, because his rival showed with the nut flush. Sebastian said that he also had a flush, but lower.

Unluckily, two Polish players, Bartek Kakol and Jacek Atlantic Ladny finished the tournament. Bartek won the ticket for EPT Warsaw on a PokerStars satellite. We had information that he got there from a freeroll just for Polish players. But from a different source of information, we heard that it was from a Quallifier for 2,000 FPP. But now it isn't  important any longer. Bartek busted out. First, he lost a lot of chips from his stack because of his unsuccesful
bluff. Then he lost more chips in an all-in action for 4000 from middle position with Jx 9x. His opponent called with Ax Qx. The flop brought Tx 8x 7x . Bartek got the nut straight! However the turn brought Kx, and then the river showed Jx. So his opponent caught the nut straight and in tthat's how Bartek Kakol finished his career at the EPT Warsaw.

Unfortunately, we didn't catch the hand when Jacek Atlantic Ladny busted out. Only six Polish runners are left.

Dario Minieri was in trouble for a while. He had just 3,700 in his stack. He lost his chips when he was in early position with
, the big blind player called and showed
. The flop brought

, what meant that Dario was the leader, however his opponent had four outs to the gutshot straight. The turn brought a and the river brought a . So Minieri doubled-up and now has over 8,000 in his stack.

Katja Thater started the hand with an open raise from UTG+1. When action folded around to the big blind player, he decided to play 3-bet. Katja called and we saw a flop of . Even so, the big blind guy continued for 3,500 and he got called. The turn brought an and both players decided to raise. The last street brought a and Katja's opponent checked. Katja bet 4,800. Her opponent was apparently not convinced that Katja had a strong hand and made a brave call with ... . So Katja showed pocket and won a very nice pot (20,000 chips).

After a quite long break, we are back. Blinds are up! Now we have the blinds at 150 / 300.

Table #12, where Luka Pagano and Sebastian Ruthenberg are sitting, was joined Marcin Goral Horecki. Sebastian Ruthenberg started the hand by limping from UTG + 1. Action limped around to the big blind. The big blind checked. The flop brought . The action checked around to the cut-off player, who bet for 500. Sebastian

Tomek Tomson Krzesiński

Unfortunately, we have just got information, that Tomek Tomson Krzesinski has busted out. Peter Jepsen in the cut-off position started with an open raise for 500. Tomek was on the button, he raised for 1,400. The blind players folded so action went around to the winner of the EPT Warsaw 2007. He called, and then we saw the flop . Petera checked, Tomson continue bet for 1,400. Jepsen called. The turn brought so Tomson played all-in for 8,000. After a few minutes a Swedish called with . Tomek just said, "Nice Call" and showed with an open ended straight draw. Unluckily the river brought . It turned out that Krzesinski remained with 250 in his stack, which is the amount of 1BB. In the next hand after his opponent's open raise, he played all-in with . His opponent had pocket . Unfortunately an ace didn't show on board, so Tomek finished the tournament.

That was to be expected. The clash of Luca Pagano and Sebastian Ruthenberg was amazing. Luca started with a raise for 400 from late position, and was 3-bet for 1,400 by Sebastian, who sat in the big blind position. The Italian player called, the flop brought . Sebastian continued for 1,700 and Luca went all-in. Ruthenberg was thinking for a while, and finally, he decided to call with... . We don't know why he called, but it wasn't a good choice. Luca showed .

Lukasz Wasek is in big trouble. In the last hour he lost most of his stack. After a middle position player limped, action folded around to the big blind player, who raised for 400. Lukasz called and we saw the flop of .
After the opponent's continuation bet for 600, Lukas stayed on board. The next street brought the .
The big blind player didn't slow down, so Lukasz had to call another bet of 1,600. The last street brought . The opponent went all-in for 3575. Lukasz was inconsolable. He folded with Jx Kx. We don't know if his opponent had an ace, because he showed only Jx. Lukasz remained with 5,000 in his stack after that hand.

After a while he was out of the frying-pan and into the fire. He was moved to #7 table, where he found ElkY Grospellier. Lukasz limped from the under the gun position. Action limped around to the short stack cut-off player who went all-in for 1,200. Lukasz called, however the next player raised to 5,000. It was too much for ElkY'ego and Lukas, who folded. Wasek remained with 3,500 left in his stack.

Bertrand Elky Grospellier

We caught Bertrand Elky Grospellier in action. On a flop of the middle position player bet for 400, and he was instantly called by Elky who was on the button. The turn brought . This time the middle position player checked, so Elky bet 1,000. The opponent check - raised him for 3,000 in total. The winner from Nassau called and the dealer dealt a on the last street. The middle position player checked to Bertrand. Bertrand made a big bet of 4,500. After a while, the opponent folded and Elky won the pot. He currently has one of the biggest stacks of the tournament. His stack is 30,000.
