ESPN Inside Deal with November Niner Eric Buchman

Eric Buchman was the featured guest in this week's episode of ESPN's Inside Deal. Howards Lederer was also interviewed over the phone.

ESPN Inside DealNovember Niner Eric Buchman is the latest guest to be featured on ESPN's Inside Deal. Buchman who was picked by first episode guest Chris Moneymaker as his favourite to take down the 2009 WSOP Main Event title is currently second in chips going into the final table.

Doyle Brunson's Hall of Shame

An interesting topic that was discussed in this week's episode was Doyle Brunson's Hall of Shame. Doyle named a list of deceased players who he thought brought shame to the poker game. The most interesting addition to that list was poker legend Stu Ungar. As for players who are still alive, the Inside Deal hosts felt that Tony Guoga would be a definite addition to their list.

Howard LedererBesides Buchman, Howard "The Professor" Lederer (pictured right) was also interviewed over the phone this week. In that interview, Lederer commented that "2009 in my mind was really the true arrival of the internet player." He said that when playing in the WSOP this year, he felt that the young internet players had gained a lot of live tournament experience and generally played solid poker.

Lederer also spoke on a range of issues including poker legislation, his sister Annie Duke's participation in the Celebrity Apprentice, if he and his sister would be able to beat the Brunson's and the chances of him taking up politics as a career.

Buchman confident going into the final table

After Lederer's interview, it was Buchman's turn. When asked about his seating position in the final table, Buchman responded positively, saying that he really liked his seat as he had the shorter stacks to his left, the bigger stacks to his right and chipleader Darvin Moon relatively far away from him.

In general, Buchman was in a confident mood. He plans to take it easy going into the final table and has no plans to hire a coach to work on his game. After that, they also discussed how Buchman had switched sponsors from Full Tilt Poker  to PokerStars.

Towards the end of the show, the hosts and featured guest was also asked to name their pick for Team Americas in the Caesar's Cup. Buchman picked Huck Seed,  Bernard Lee chose Chris Ferguson, Laura Lane's pick was Erik Seidel and finally Andrew Feldman's man was Erick Lindgren. For Team Europe they each picked Carlos Mortensen, Gus Hansen, Vitaly Lunkin and Patrik Antonius.
