Epic Poker League Final Table Reached With Seidel, Mercier & Co.

Day 3 of the Epic Poker League's first $20K Main Event is in the books, and the 6-player official final table is one of the toughest in any tournament ever.

Who Busted on Day 3?

Hasan Habib
Hasan Habib leads in chips

Today, 12 players busted and each of them took home between $43K and $71K for their efforts. Those players include Justin Bonomo (18th), Matt Glantz (14th), Isaac Baron (10th), Eugene Katchalov (8th), and Adam Levy (7th).

Sam Trickett entered the day with the chip lead but finished in a disapointing 11th place.

The 6 remaining players are guaranteed $107K a piece, and the player who wins the tournament will take home an impressive $1 million.

Adam Levy's Exit

Despite it occurring in a fairly standard hand, Adam Levy's bustout was perhaps the most heartbreaking of the day.

On the final table bubble, Levy picked up QcQd. At 8K/16K/2K blinds, Chino Rheem opened the pot for 40K. Levy moved all-in with a short stack, and Rheem snap-called with KdKh.

The hand played out in dramatic fashion from that point, with a flop of AsAcQs. Levy celebrated his good fortune at having flopped a full house, and the 9s on the turn was no cause for distress.

An Ad on the river was one of Chino Rheem's 4 outs, and Levy hit the rail in 7th place.

The Final Table

The final table for the first Epic Poker League is every bit as stacked as league founders Jeffrey Pollack and Annie Duke had hoped it would be.

The chip counts going into the final day of the tournament are as follows:

EPL - Season One - Tournament Series One - Day 3
Rank Name Chip Count
1st Hasan Habib 1,655,000
2nd Jason Mercier 1,495,000
3rd Chino Rheem 1,432,000
4th Erik Seidel 1,109,000
5th Gavin Smith 766,000
6th Huck Seed 396,000

It isn't often where every player at a final table has either a WPT or WSOP title to their name. And who could have guessed Jason Mercier and Erik Seidel would final table this? Besides everyone, I mean.

Play will resume tomorrow at 2:00 PM local time (PT), and we'll be sure to keep you guys posted with how this one plays out. It should be... epic.
