Esfandiari disqualified from PCA for peeing under table
An early contender for strangest story of the year as a crazy prop bet goes very badly for the Magician.
No stranger to crazy prop bets, Bill Perkins and Antonio Esfandiari had one of their trademark wagers this year at the PCA. For an undisclosed (And no doubt, large) amount, Perkins bet that Esfandiari couldn't lunge everywhere for 48 hours instead of walking.
This is no easy feat and Esfandari acknowledged that his legs were burning as a result, and as such planned to limit his walking for the bet.
One of his plans, according to the PokerNews live reports, was to use the fabled online poker method of having a 'pee bottle', which he used under the table. As there are clearly some things you cannot get away with live compared to online, this led to him getting disqualified from the Main Event for 'breach of etiquette' on Day 2, at a time when he had over 100,000 chips.
The embarrassed One Drop champion admitted that he made an error in judgement and crossed a line in his attempt to win the bet, and apologised wholeheartedly in his interview with Sarah Grant (Below):
