European Poker Tour Heading to Vienna

The next stop on the PokerStars European Poker Tour schedule is the Austrian capital of Vienna. The €5,300 main event will take place from the 26th to the 31st of October and the winner is guaranteed a €500,000 cash prize.

EPT Vienna is just a few days away and poker players everywhere are getting ready for it. Some have qualified via satellites on PokerStars, some have bought in directly, but all of them have the €500,000 first place prize in mind.

The five-day main event, featuring a buy-in of €5,000 + €300, will attract a series of notable names, including the likes of Team PokerStars Pros Sandra Naujoks and Sebastian Ruthenberg, as well as Team PokerStars SportStar and tennis legend Boris Becker.

The PokerStars EPT Vienna will take place at the Kursalon palace in the City Park. Besides the main event, players will also be able to take part in various side events. Buy-ins are ranging from €330 to €10,300 and they will also feature such game types as Pot Limit Omaha, H.O.R.S.E. or 8-Game.

Note: If you plan on attending the EPT Vienna, please be aware that Day 1A of the main event coincides with an Austrian national holiday. Therefore, banks will be closed and public transportation will be limited, so it is recommended that you prepare your money and travelling route for the tournament in advance.

The previous EPT Vienna took place in 2005 and had a buy-in of €2,000. French pro Pascal Perrault took down a field of 297 players to win a first place prize of €184,500. For more information, please go to the EPT Vienna page on PokerStars.
