Four way chop in the $100,000 Triton event

Another four way chop in Monte Carlo as Belgian pro Pieter Aerts claims his second Triton title

The $100,000 event in the Monte Carlo Triton series has concluded with Belgium's Pieter Aerts taking down his second career Triton title. 

Just like the $50,000 event before it, this one ended with a four-way ICM deal between Aerts, Fedor Holz, Michael Soyza and Mario Mosböck. 

They left $310,000 to play for, and the title.

It was a swingy heads-up match between Aerts and Soyza that saw the Belgian down to four big blinds and one point, but he fought back and claimed his second Triton title. 

Soyza, however, took home the most money by virtue of that ICM chop. 

“It was definitely really long,” Aerts said of the final table. “We made a deal four-handed, then the play changed a lot because we’re playing just for that first prize…I was down to five big blinds four-handed and four big blinds heads-up, but I came back. That’s how it goes sometimes.”

Next up for Triton is the $200,000 Invitational event, which sees separate brackets for professionals and amateur players on Day 1, which starts today.
