Full Tilt Heads-Up Championship *Update*
We already reported about Full Tilt's $25,000 Heads-Up Championship some time ago. Meanwhile, more precise informations about the for now unique spectacle have appeared.
$25,000 is the highest buy-in ever in the history of online poker. Nonetheless, already 51 players signed up for the tournament. Among them is the host and reigning NBC NHUPC winner Chris Ferguson, Andy Bloch, the great Dane Gus Hansen, the exceptional player Phil Ivey, the man behind Full Tilt Howard Lederer and many more notable live players.
The online regulars of Full Tilt's High Stakes can also be found in the tourney list. Among others, Tom "durrrr" Dwan, Isaac "the guru 11" Baron, Phil "OMGClayAiken" Galfond and Hac "trex313" Dang participate in the event.
Four of the already assigned places are reserved for satellite winners. The qualifiers take place on May 22nd and 23rd, with a buy-in of $535 respectively.
Should there be less than 64 players, then the number of participants will be reduced to the next lowest, fitting "KO system number", to guarantee an ideal tourney procedure (8, 16, 32, 64). This means that if only 55 players register, only the first 32 will be eligible. First come, first served.
The winner will receive 35% of the prize pool, which would thus be $560,000 with 64 participants.
