Full Tilt Pro David Singer wins the $25,000 FTP HU Championship
64 players took on each other in the most expensive and most exclusive poker tournament ever to be held online. The winner of the spectacle was Full Tilt Pro David Singer who accepted a prize money of $560,000 for this feat.
Due to the huge rush on the starting places, Full Tilt Poker
increased the possible number of participants to 128 on a short notice. But maybe it was too short, as not that many players signed up for the tournament after all and only the first 64 registrations were accepted. The prize pool thus amounted to $1.6 million.
Some prominent names like Phil Ivey, Gus Hansen and host Chris 'Jesus' Ferguson were already eliminated in the first round. Due to the incredibly strong lineup though, none of the participants expected to have a free ticket.
Patrik "FinddaGrind" Antonius, Dani "Ansky451" Stern, mischiefofmagic and mastrblastr
all dropped out in the quarter-final against their opponents and received $96,000 in prize money. Mischiefofmagic had actually qualified himself via a satellite.
Andy Bloch and Brian Hastings were then sent to the rails in the semi-final. In the finale, David Singer then prevailed against the young star Emil "whitelime" Patel. Patel is like most participants a regular in the online High Stakes at Full Tilt and just like Hastings, he is already counted amongst the most feared online players despite his young age.
