Yes you read that correctly. The greatest Olympian of all time is also currently one of the big stacks in the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure Main Event.

The surprisingly small field of 320 on day 1A was doubled on day 1B in the Bahamas, with 649 runners and a further 18 no shows creating a total field of 987.

Full details of the total prize pool and payouts are expected to be announced today.

387 players, including lots of big names, advanced to day 2 last night, with Ashton Griffin, Michael Mizrachi and Greg Mueller in positions 1-3 respectively.

Other notables coming back today include Oliver Busquet, Steve O'Dwyer, Jake Cody, Liv Boeree, Dan Smith, Carlos Mortensen, Melanie Dwyer, Phil Hellmuth, Phil Ivey, Daniel Negreanu and Fabian 'fabstinho' Quoss.

But all of them can forget about commanding much attention as long as Olympic legend Michael Phelps is still in the house.

It is no secret that the 18-time Gold Medalist is a keen poker player, and yesterday he put on a great performance to end the day as one of the big stacks with 92,000.

Tonight 549 players out of the original 987 will return for day 2 of the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure.
